ANFO Exal

anfo1DESCRIPTION

ANFO is an oxygen balanced mixture of prilled porous Ammonium Nitrate and fuel oil, (at a ratio of 94,3% AN, 5,7% FO) manufactured in Orica-Nitro facilities with total process control. It is not water resistant.

IMPLEMENTATION

Exal, is intended to use as the primary explosive in all blasting in mines, quarries and generally in underground and surface blasting. Due to its poor water resistance, its use is only in dry soil.

HIGH SAFETY FEATURES

ANFO, in comparison with other explosives nitroglycerine is more resistant to initiation by both friction and impact and using, it does not cause headache or other health problems.

RECCOMENTATIONS FOR THE USE OF THE PRODUCT

DEPTH OF HOLES

Exal can be used in all hole depths.

INITIATION AND CHARGING

Exal, does not initiate with ignition, but with other stronger explosives which are less resistant to primer detonator.

For efficient initiation, proming explosive should have a diameter closest to the borehole diameter.

Furthermore, in order to obtain maximum blasting performance the lenght of the primer should be 5 times more that its diameter.

THERMODYNAMIC AND TECHNICAL PROPERTIES

The detonating velocity depends on cartidge diameter and cartidge confinement. Ideal detonation velocity is calculated by "JC3" thermodynamic code as a function of chemical composition.

PRODUCT RANGE

EXAL is packed in 25kg's double layer bags in VAGEXCO Sh.p.k. The bags are certified for their suitability in trasportation of dangerous goods.

CLASSIFICATION OF EXPLOSIVES

Un Classification 1.1D, UN No. 0082 Explosive, Blasting Type B.
